Day 7 in Dragonshore (Part 2)

The others greet you as you return. Zeed nods to you. "Hey boss, found a few tracks while yous was gone."

Atriox looks curious. "Oh ? What kind of tracks ?"

"Um... I'm not sure, it's a bit of a mix." He looks sheepish. "Quite a lot of stuff here. What should we do?"

Atriox looks determined. "We press on. Everyone keep your eyes peeled. Be prepared for anything. We move to the cave."

"Yes boss! You heard em, Bitey, get a move on." Tank and Zeed flank the cart, Tak riding inside and facing the rear. Dahlia walks near Atriox, keeping a wary eye out. Alrik, you scout ahead of the cart, using the instructions Tak gave you. (When you're available you can make any checks you want to help this be easier traveling)

Alrik scouts ahead, his trained eyes scanning the edges of the road for any sign of ambush or trap. (13 perception, but only a 5 stealth... blah)

You spook some birds nearby, but nothing else jumps at you. You do spot some of the trails Zeed mentioned, but the tracks look old. (Survival check to see what they are)
(10

You can tell a few are animal tracks, perhaps a deer. The freshest is a bear track.

He continues walking, albeit a bit more cautiously and wary of ambush. (17 perception and 13 stealth this time)
(Nice!)

Carefully you plod forward, tracing the tracks into the brush. You hear a deep growling off through the trees, and spot dark fur pass by the trees about 50 feet to your left.

Alrik freezes where he is, watching for the movement again. Behind his back, he flashes an illuminated ball of energy three times, the predecided signal for the wagon to stop.

Bitey sees the signal and pulls the reins, slowing the wagon to a halt. The horse snorts nervously. You spot the movements again, a little further away.

In a snap decision, Alrik sends a sparking ball of bluish purple light hurling through the trees in the direction of the bear, it leaving a trail of smoke behind it that smells heavily of freshly fallen rain and exotic fruits.

The bear growls and whines, turning and running from the strange light flying towards it. His snorts and grumbles can be heard as he thumps away through the undergrowth.

Alrik stays motionless for a few minutes, waiting to see if it comes back of if the light attracted anything else.

Satisfied that they are safe for the time being, he flashes a light twice, letting the wagon know they are good to begin moving again.
The party moves on and a light drizzle begins to fall. The smell of exotic fruit lingers in the air, mingling with horse and loam. You travel for another hour or so unimpeded until about (what you assume to be) noon. (Do you want to continue going, or stop for anything? I'm just breaking it up in case you want to do things on the journey)

(I dont lol we got a lot to do in 12 hours lol)
(Fair rofl just throwing in survival elements, if you guys wish for them today. :3 If not I'll continue)
(Chant have a preference?)
(No, not really
(Sounds good, no problem)

You arrive by evening, exiting the Tanglewood Forest and making your way to the foothills of the Stonebreak mountain range. Tak takes some time to locate it again, but soon you find the cave you were looking for. Accessible   by a narrow channel, the entrance is well hidden from anyone looking at it from the fields.

Inside, the roof is about 8 feet tall at the highest point. It's rather cool and dry, and in the fading light of dusk you can see the back of the cave about 50 feet in. Little piles of materials--sticks, rocks, twigs and leaf litter, among other things like old furs and mats--crowd one side of the cave.

Alrik looks around, nodding with agreement. "This is a good spot to hide, Tak... well done." He turns his attention to the group, dropping his hood and illuminating the cave with a dim sphere of energy. "I don't know what Atriox has told you about the plan.... but some of these barrels will be drugged with this." He holds up the parcel of Sabrila's Nettle, opening it for them to see. "Any ideas on how to get those barrels into the goblin's hands?"

Bitey slowly smiles. Zeed chuckles. "Yeah. We got some ways to make that work. We could let em think we're all merchants. Rob it from us and we escape... That way they're the least suspicious. We could also create a destroyed campsite... make it look like they were left there by some slaughtered loggers. Lots of options." He grins, ruffing his feathers.

Atriox chuckles at there enthusiasm. "Just get it done boys. You may choose how you do it. Surprise me."

"Come on Tank, Bitey, let's show em how it's done. Bitey... Handle the nettle, will ya?"

The mercenaries drug 3 of the 6 barrels, unloading the clean stuff into the cave for later. After a quick bite to eat, they take the horse, cart and goods off into the night. You can hear the wagon wheels creak away through the darkness.

Dahlia pulls out the remaining sunrod from the crypt excursion. Depressing the button, light floods into the cave. Some shrubby trees block most of the light from being seen outside.

You notice lots of drawings on the walls of the cave, painted with blood and berries. Draconic phrases and pictures, the main writing accented with dragon eyes:

The dragon scale toughens our skin. The dragon bone adorns our skull. The dragon heart flames our sorcery. We are the dragon, and for the dragon we live. Long live the dragon.

(So.... funny thought that I had while driving home for lunch... Alrik STILL has no clue he can speak draconic... lol. He thinks that Tak suddenly improved in the common tongue)

(Also not sure if he can read it... XD that's really funny. We should rp that. Lol. )
(Yeah, he can speak, read, and write draconic according to Dndbeyond, the website I built him on)
(Ohh. Lol. Ok then that's fine

Alrik wanders around the cave looking at the drawings and writings. "Whomever was here before us sure liked the dragon... whoever that was. I'm guessing Pyrlanth?"

Tak nods. "Lots were here before Tak's tribe. We added some. We knew of Pyrlanth. Though... Tak just help bring things and guard cave. Not paint. Don't know how to read or write." He puts his claw on a bloody handprint by the door, a little smaller than his own.

Atriox grunts. "Perhaps we can change that. We will teach you to read and write if you wish but one thing at a time my freind. Draw your sword Flame-scar."

He turns toward you and pulls the sword off his back with a grunt. He widens his stance, gripping the hilt tightly with his claws.

Atriox circles him with his glaive casually on his shoulder
"First thing is first show my what you'd do to guard. I want to see what position you naturally take."

He looks confused. "Tak used to have a shield... Uh..."  He fumbles with his footing a little, turning the sword sideways like a shield, one hand up near the top to brace it.

"Understandable but you don't have a shield now and you need to know how to fight without one should the need arise."

Atriox goes to stand in front of Tak

"While there is a considerable difference between a sword and a glaive I'll show you what I can. There are many forms of stances that you can switch between Tak. I was trained to never use a low guard. I always use a high guard. It has elements of Deception by making your legs and torso vulnerable. Should an enemy attack you you can easily bring your blade on theirs or just simply step back. I'll show you how to attack with a high guard."

Atriox backs away from Tak a little and performs some examples of a high attacks

You cant actually see his sword but that's how you hold it

He watches with curiosity, then tries to do some himself. The first few he swings too roughly, almost knocking himself off balance. But he slowly gets better. "This so much different than a spear..."

Atriox chuckles. "Indeed. But your doing just fine little one. The key is to be fluid. Dont be predictable. You can adapt your stance to fit your fighting style better which will come with practice and experience. Now come attack me."

Atriox gets in a defensive stance

Tak gets a mischievous look on his face. "R-really?"

Atriox grunts. "Really. I'm not inviting you to try and kill me but you need practice.:

He bends his knees a little, eyeing you with his weapon raised overhead.  Tak rushes forward, bringing the sword down and around from the left, using his tail as a counter balance. He aims with the flat of the blade...

(Rolling without proficiency bonus......... 17+3....20 rofl)
(Nice lo)
(Finally I roll decent lolol

Atrioxs try's to block but the kobold is to quick and lands an attack on his leg that brings him to one knee

Tak leaps back, surprised it worked. He flashes a toothy grin.

Atriox grins but at the same time let's out a growl

He jumps back up and leaps at Tak preforming a spinning attack

(Attack roll?)
(Just for fun XD)
(16+6.....)

Tak isn't ready for the speed or power barreling at him, and holds his sword up like a shield again out of habit. The attack hits with such ferocity that it sends him flying backwards, right out the mouth of the cave.

Atriox curses under his breath for being stupid and showing off. He goes to make sure Tak is alright

(Pftttttt.. Rolled a 1) As you exit the cave, you hear a squealing bark from your immediate left. Side stepping, Tak barrels past you in his failed surprise attack. He stumbles, unable to stop his swing, and embeds it right into one of the trees.

(18 str) He struggles to unhook it, putting his feet up on the tree and giving a hard tug. The bark gives way and sends him tumbling backward.

Atriox laughs. "I am impressed by you initiative counting on me being worried and coming after you little one."

He swings his glaive around taking stance

Tak smirks. "I knew Atriox would." He tries to rush you again, clumsily bringing the sword down from over his head. (Rolled a 2...5 total)

Atriox easily catches Taks blade with his glaive

"This is how you disarm your opponent little one "

Atriox uses his blade and cross guard to manipulate Taks blade and throw it out of his hand. He finishes by bringing his blade to the kobolds neck

"Yeild..........

Tak's eyes grow wide. He holds his claws up, panting.

Atriox backs up a little before lowering his glaive and relaxing. He smiles at Tak

"Not bad little one for your first go at it. Come. Grab your sword and let's get out of the open

He scrambles up, grabs his weapon and follows after you.

They head back into the cave to wait for everybody

A few hours pass and Zeed and the boys return with the horse and wagon, empty. It's close to midnight now.

He's got a big grin on his face. "Planted, taken, and enjoyed by now I bet. They'll all be snoozin' for the next 4-6 hours."

Atriox grins and twirls his glaive while looking at Alrik

"Time to strike?

Alrik says nothing, sitting against the wall of the cave. Upon closer inspection, you realize he's fallen asleep.

Tak hops over to the storm mage and pokes his face a couple of times.

Alrik startles awake, his hands sparking as he jerks forward. (Dex save of 18 to NOT instinctively blast him... lol)

"I must have dozed off. Apologies. We ready to move?" He stands up, the energy disappearing from his hands

Atriox grunts his annoyance receding into amusement. "Indeed we are storm caller. We dont have long let's move."

Tak backs away slowly, making a mental note to not do that again. He goes to gather his stuff.

Alrik stands, brushing the dirt off his jacket. He nods to Atriox and gestures to the opening of the cave. "How do you want to do this?"

Atriox sighs. "I doubt it worked on all the goblins. Nobody go in there cocky you understand ?"

He looks at all his men

"We get there quietly look around access the situation and then move in for the kill!"

Alrik nods in agreement. "There isn't just goblins in there... be on your guard."

They leave the cave heading for the goblin encampment. Atriox keeping Dahlia close by

You all travel in relative silence. The night is dark, the moon shrouded in shadow. After an hour or two, you see the faint glow of fire near the far end of the forest. Zeed nods, pointing. That's definitely your destination.

As you edge closer, you hear the noise of approaching boots. Several of them, coming through the forest, likely 100 feet away. The jibbering voice of goblins carries on the wind.

Atriox motions for half the team to take one side and the rest on the other side preparing for an ambush

The men nod, shifting through the brush and trees. (Roll stealth checks for me)

Alrik grumbles and mutters to himself about turning into that which he despises, something that ambushes, but he listens to Atriox and takes his position. (14)

Atriox readies himself for what is surely to come 18 stealth

(Thanks for your patience guys XD I have an idea... Tak rolled a 23 for stealth but.... 19 deception and lolol 7 performance. Using a kobold trait here...)

The others hide with you, attempting to make themselves scarce. Except... you don't see Tak with you. He's disappeared.

The goblin scouting group cackles at some nasty joke as they come through the trees. You count about eight of them all together, armed with piecemeal leather and jagged swords. One near the front says, "Nice fight tonight, good drinking entertainment!" One squeals. "Ya hear Rek's crew raided another few barrels? Once get back, lets have a dip at it!" another answers with glee.

"Ooooooh lookit what's here!" The lead scout squawks, hopping forward. You see Tak with a rope tied around his leg, limping out of the bushes like he's injured. He's covered in mud and looks terrified.

"Oh!! Goblins! Noooo! Please leave Tak be! Tak not bother you! Please! Dying, cough cough!" He grabs his face like he's in agony, extremely overacting. "Not good for bloody your weapons, Tak sick!! Make you all sick! Cough cough."

The goblins look... confused and hesitant. The closest to him kicks Tak over with his boot, hardly any bigger than the kobold is. "Sick from what, eh? What killing you?"

He cowers, thrashing about dramatically. "Sickness coming! It take us all! Please spare Tak his last moments!"

(He's using grovel, cower, and be..... an action to pathetically distract nearby foes until the end of your next turn.... all allies gain advantage on attack rolls against enemies within 10 feet of you that can see you. Usable once a short rest... XD)
(...how close together are all the goblins?)
(They're gathering around Tak now, so most are within 10 feet of him.... I'd say they're all within 20-30 feet of each other, and at most 20-30 feet from you)
Is it our turn ?
(Yeah
(Can Dahlia blind them ? Sounds like something a priest could do ? )
(Maaaaybe.... let me check her spells...)
(Actually... doesn't look like a cleric has a spell like that XD Not that level anyway... but you do have a skull bomb still, among other things in your pack)
(What's that do
(Alrik has that stashed away for the opportune moment... unless Atriox wants to use it
Fudge it let's just murder them
(Lololol you guys can do that xD Whateeeeever you want. You all have advantage. 🙂 )

Atriox strikes at the lead scout who was talking. Using the reach of his glaive he slashes right at the goblins neck. (19 and 25 critical
The glaive practically takes the head off of the goblin, sending a shower of  blood across the ground. Tak, splattered with it, grins evilly. He pulls the rope tied to his limping leg and his sword comes flying from the bushes. Catching it in his hand, he swings at the goblin behind the first. It rakes into its prey painfully, skewering the goblin's face, chest and stomach with the many teeth.  (11 damage, kills it)

Alrik flicks his wrist, casting the liquid-like energy across his fingers, igniting it into a large gout of flame. (7 and 22 to hit, 9 damage)

(7 misses, 22 hits) A few of the goblins in the rear shriek in terror, one dropping to the ground. His partner isn't so lucky, and is immolated instantly.

(3 down, Aubrey you can control all the others if you'd like. 🙂 Your little possie)
(Yeahhhhhh how many goblins left 4 ?
(Yep!)

Tank charges the one who fell to the ground to avoid the fire. Before it can recover he picks it up by the neck in his hand and squeezes as hard as he can
21 strength

Zeed meanwhile charges at another using his wings to spiral at the goblin ending with a slash with his new sword right down the creatures middle
17 and 17 😂

Nathaniel approaches the nearest to him and Bitey does the same
16 23 for Bitey
12 and 11 for Nathaniel

(I'll give Bitey two attacks actually... Nathaniel isn't here, unless you don't want anyone guarding Olohand XD)

Bitey pulls out a hand crossbow, firing off two quick bolts into the goblins in front of him. The bolts slice cleanly through their heads, killing them silently. Their bodies crumple to the ground and he smiles.

Zeed's sword strikes true, cleaving the beast crown to crotch. The mess spills out, blood mixing with the shadows.

You hear Tank grunt and a loud crack can be heard over the fray. The goblin's neck breaks in several places, instantly killing it. The minotaur gives a snort and tosses the carcass at a tree. The sickening crunch of bones and wood resonates through the forest.

Dahlia peers out from hiding and stands up. "You fellas made quick work of that."

Atriox smiles and looks to everybody "good work team......I doubt it will be that easy from here on in but it's a good start at the very least. Tak take your trophies and then lets push on to the camp."
The kobold messily disentangles his sword from the goblin and smiles wickedly. He wipes the mud off his scales and, taking one of the enemy swords, begins hacking off every ear of the bunch.

Atriox looks to Bitey. "Go scout around the perimeters ." Then to Zeed
"Could you fly above and watch over him and do a little of your own scouting?"

"The main thing boys is to be careful. I'd rather your job be unsuccessful then loose either of you now go."

Bitey nods silently and slinks off through the trees. Zeed smirks. "Yes boss. Will do." He strips off some of his heavier armor and gives his wings a little test flap, the soreness almost completely gone from the days before. He jumps and gains altitude, soaring up into the dark sky.

***

Meanwhile.....

"ON YOUR FEET, WORM!"

Oredion, you are roughly yanked to your feet and dragged forward. Sharp swords and daggers poke at you, jeering. Jibbering noises and cackles issue from the crowd of goblins pressing in on you. Your muscles ache and your bruises sting.

You're being taken to the Pit again.

Roughly tossed down inside a hole about 10 feet deep, you tumble to the bottom. Your ropes slip loose, having been cut moments beforehand. All around you lay bones, blood, and bits of rubble. Up around you, you see about 20 goblins laughing and pointing, jumping up and down, and passing out cups of a frothy beer.

The one you've come to know as Sawtooth hollers, a maw full of messy teeth complimenting his slimy personality. "Tonight we have new challengers for savage man-beast! Krus the Mighty bring us nasty new surprises! Yeeeees! CHEER FOR LEADER!"

The crowd roars drunkenly, prying open a few more of their acquisitioned barrels of booze. Krus the Mighty waves from the side, up atop a platform of wood and bones. A purple hobgoblin, he hefts his steel club over his shoulder and belches loudly. The crowd roars again.

A cage is roughly dragged over to the edge of the hole and a snarl issues from it. As the door is opened, a mangy, rabid wolf scrambles out, rolling down to the bottom of the Pit. It hits the floor with a thud, turning and snapping at the air, its eyes rolling.

It turns toward you and charges.

Come at me yee mangy mutt. Roars Oredion

(Do I roll a dice haven't done this forever sorry. 😂)
(Right now you have no armor, so your AC is 10.... I rolled a 9 xD)

The wolf rushes up to you, attempting to take hold of your arm. His teeth just graze it, barely missing it as you pull safely away.

(It's okay!! You're doing great! It's your turn now, so you can choose 1) an action, like an attack or initiating rage (or both) and 2) a movement. You can describe them since it's not like... a tabletop lolol)
(Depending on what you do, I'll have you roll a certain dice)

Oredion beats his chest with a meaty fist and charges at the beast with his bare habds as Joey jumps to his shoulder hissing ferociously.

(Joeyyy! 😂 I love him. Go ahead and roll an attack for me. It might have an option for unarmed attack on your Fight Club app... if not, you can roll a 1d20 dice and add your strength sore (+5) to it, plus proficiency bonus (+2).... tell me the total number. 🙂 )
( Got a 4 lol so total is 11?)
(Lol! That happens. His armor class is 13, so it doesn't match it. It's a miss, but that's okay.)

The wolf ducks under your hands, and you grab out a few handfuls of fur. (Bite, 13) It turns and snaps at you again, slicing open a wound on your leg (7 damage)

(Your turn again 🙂 )

Oredion clasps his hands together and swings down at the beasts head
(Rolled 14)
(NICE! Roll a 1d4 + 5 for damage)
(Got a 1, so 6 Damage)

You feel your fists smash down atop his skull, the bone cracking beneath the force. The wolf yelps with the hit, blinded momentarily from the pain. (You can go again, I rolled a 9 so he misses)

The goblins roar with mingled anger and excitement. Groups are beginning to pass out from the drugged alcohol.  Zeed spots all of this going on, as does Bitey. They hurry back to tell the others.

Oredion strikes the beast one last time before he turns to run and scramble up the wall. (Rolled an 11)

Your fingers slip against the loose soil and rock, and although you make a valiant effort to climb out you drop back down to the bottom again. The wolf, recovering, drips foam from its maw as it rushes for your back. (Natural 20..... lolol... 13 damage) It leaps atop you, clawing and biting at your shoulders and head.

(Your turn 🙂 )

Oredion laying on his back trying vigorously to get free screams to Joey "Go find help idk if I can take this here mut alone" (Rolled a 10 oof)

(I love it xD)

You wrestle with the maws of the rabid wolf, attempting to throw him off of you. It's a fairly even match, and Joey scrambles from your beard in a puff of fire. Skittering up the stones easily, he slithers past the legs of the stomping, drunken goblins.

***

Zeed and Bitey return, the aarakocra almost crashing into a tree as he lands in a hurry. "They're starting to drop like flies. By the time we get there I think half of em will be out at least! There is one big guy. One loud guy. They're all watching a fight going on. Looks like small groups in the outlying areas with supplies and mounts. Should we go?" Bitey nods, agreeing with what Zeed says.

Alrik looks at Tak. "For Wren..." the Storm Caller closes his eyes, energy welling up inside of him and pouring over his skin like running water. He opens his eyes and the storm emitting from them makes you all swear you can hear the sound of thunder from within them. The magic energy pools within his hands, fighting gravity as it runs down and clings to the backs of his upturned palms.

He looks to Atriox and nods...

(Awwww dude that almost made me cry XD)
(Haha! Figured it'd be something Alrik would do... also, like always, I'll let you decide if Alrik preparing for battle draws a storm into the area or not... lol)
(.....it does XD)

Tak looks up at the storm mage with a pang in his heart. He grips his sword tighter. "For Makani."

Atriox twirls his glaive in a circle then grips it tightly. "For Skyhold and her people"

He thinks about the situation. "Zeed Bitey Tank engage the outlying forces keep them busy for awhile? Fight dirty. Gorilla warfare tactics. Dont put yourself in unnecessary danger your just a distraction. While we go deal with the leader and his men. Shouldn't take long if they are already falling."

The three thugs gives their approval of the plan, excited for a fight and spoils of war. Goblins are known to steal, and they likely have some good finds laying around.

Zeed circles the spot he saw the leader on your map, Atriox, before hurrying off with the others. You, Alrik, Tak and Dahlia sneak around to the other side of the camp, peering out over the dusty torchlight and campfire glow. The air feels heavy with rain, and thunder booms on the horizon.

Joey tilts his little salamander head, his big eyes turning this way and that as he scans the area. Being able to sense heat, he lets out a little puff of smoke and moves toward an area with much larger heat signals than the tiny goblins.

He crests over some rocks, flicking his tongue in and out. He tilts his head again, scrambling over to....

(rolling.... 1d4....)

Tak. The little salamander climbs up the kobold's leg, using him as a scaffolding to get the attention of the others. He burps out another little jet of fire. Tak yelps, slapping at the creature. "Wh--what is this!? Get if off of me!!"

The salamander jumps off of him onto Atriox's tail, scrambling up the length of it and nipping at it. He leaps off and spins in circles on the ground, then rushes a few feet back toward where the fighting pit is. He looks behind him at Atriox with a tilted head.

Atriox is slightly confused but decides to roll with it. Life works in mysterious ways after all

"Come on guys I think its trying to get us to follow it. Let's go !"
The critter runs ahead of you, flashing between red, black and white, his scales almost kaleidoscopic. You hear some shouting in the distance off to your right, the distinct bellow of Tank, and a maniacal laugh you've never heard--it sends a chill down your spine. Then there is a minor explosion, catching several tents on fire.

You come upon a group of goblins, stumbling with spears and curved swords in hand. They rush at you, six total.

(Go ahead and describe how you'd handle this scene with a few move/attack actions, we won't worry with turn order so much. Feel free to also make up/interact with environmental things that make sense.)

***

(And for you Collin...)

The wolf snaps and growls, biting at your hands as you try to wrestle it away (18 to hit, 5 damage). Blood runs in rivulets down your arms. The goblins howl with laughter up above, a couple of them getting too tipsy and falling into the pit unconscious.

(Your turn!)

I swing my fist out at the wolf's side in one final chance to strike the wolf off me as I tell "That bloody salamander better be up there helping and not looting the place!" (12)

(That hits! Roll 1d4 +5 for damage)
(Rolled a 1, so 6)

You hear its ribs crack with your punch, and it wheezes, coughing up blood. You punctured a lung with a few of the bones, and it falls to the ground, twitching and growling as its life ebbs away. Finally able to catch your breath, you hear some strange sounds in the distance. You also notice the other goblins who have fallen in... still wearing their armor and swords.

Oredion, you turn to see a few more goblins cackling, not quite drunk enough yet, dragging over another crate on wheels. This one is much.... much larger. It shifts, almost tipping the cart over.

They smash the front of the door with a hammer, cracking the wood. A hissing and spitting can be heard from inside. The announcer goblin cries out shrill,

"Time.... for main event!"

A foul odor of death carries through the wet, pre-storm air. The wood cracks again as a large creature smashes against it, and again and again. It finally splinters. Out spills a burrowing aberration... a carrion crawler.

A giant, toothed centipede, with pale yellow and greenish pulsating skin and eight long tentacles protruding from the sides of its head. The bulbous eyes scan the area, smelling the death and the blood. A strange screeching echoes from its throat.

Burrowing through the rubble toward the wolf, it wraps its face around it and chews, crunching through the body and ripping it to shreads.
Oredion turns to see this horror and mutters under his breath "Not this damned thing again!" All while slowly walking towards the wall preparing to dodge at any second once this vile creature sets it's sights upon him.

***

Atriox roars as loud as he can Intimidating the goblins and then lifts a nearby barrel up. He throws it at the goblins managing to knock one down and disrupt the others charge completely. Atriox notices a nearby campfire.

He goes over to the goblin on the ground and throws him on the fire. So the goblin cant escape its fate Atriox slams a clawed foot into the goblins back holding him in the fire

As Atriox does this Tak notices a goblin taking advantage of the dragonborn having his back turned and charging Atriox

Tak runs forward and uses Atrioxs back to catapult himself at the attacking goblin. He lands with his sword peircing straight through the goblins chest. Tak holds on as the goblin thrashes before he clamps down on its throat

Dahlia attempts to get up close to one and manages to cut its side but doesn't kill it. Atrioxs fire victim is dead and he sees Dahlia in trouble and he runs to help her. He uses his glaive cut of its legs. As it falls to the ground crawling with stumps Atriox flips his glaive and brings the blade down on its head.

(AWESOME job Aubrey! I'll throw more goblins at you guys soon, including at Chant.... haha.... you can take out those last 3 any way you like)

They quickly dispatched the last three remaining wretches

Atriox is sweating but is also smiling

"Good work team let's press on !"

You continue to run, killing off goblins left and right. Up ahead you see the salamander spouting puffs of flame as a beacon. You're getting close to where you think the pit was on the map from Zeed.

(Dude theres gear and weapons around you from passed out goblins that fell in just fyi)
(I have no idea how I missed that!)
(At this point just hold it off your at 8 health 😂 were coming buddy !)
(SAVE ME 😂)
(Okay y'all... I'm actually back now. Ended up going on a motorcycle ride/date)
(Yayyyy)
(So DM Jessi... where is Alrik and who is there for him to kill? Also am I rolling for attacks or are we just RP-combatting it?)
(Welcome back!! ❤ Glad you had a good time. :3 Right now, it's just rp combatting.... we will get to a real fight soon with dice... haha. There's just too many goblins to constitute rolling for all of them. XD It'd take a week.)
(Alrik is behind Atriox and the others, bringing up the rear. You see many goblins swarming your way, maybe 20 in total coming in from both the left and the right, trying to pin you and your friends in. They're at various distances, but all within 50 feet.)
(Excellent... time for some AoE spells!)

Alrik raises his left arm, the dragonscales shimmering in the dim light cast by the fire and the soft, blue glow of his magic. A large thunderclap echoes across the sky as a bolt of lightning slams down into the man. Absorbing the energy, from the storm, he hurls a large ball of swirling, crackling energy into a swarming mass of goblins, the static electricity arcing through the air before it detonates in the center of them, a violent eruption of energy flashing and illuminating the sky for a brief second.

(And because I like to let Jessi have fun describing the grotesque ways Alrik kills things... I'll leave it to her to say what happened. Shatter spell, by the way)
(LOL You enjoy my descriptions huh? XD Well.... let's see... shatter...)

The goblins are blasted back on either side with the massive force, concussing their skulls and making their ears and noses bleed violently. Several crumple immediately, externally fine but their internal organs ruptured. The others tip over one by one, collapsing as the static electricity skitters across the ground and over their bodies.

The chief hobgoblin and his guard finally notice the intrusion, and those that are still able to fight rally to him. There are 10 in all, in addition to the leader himself. You can see a deep pit behind him, a strange hissing noise and grotesque smell issuing from it. The salamander scurries past and dives down into it.

Oredion notices Joey come leaping down from the top of the pit to land right beside the centipede. Without thinking Oredion rushes to save his friend. While charging the centipede Oredion quickly grabs one of the goblins fallen Spears and runs straight on into the centipede thrusting the pointed tip into the centipedes eye while simultaneously scooping up Joey and running to the right of the pit towards the noise above.

(Nice! We'll just rp this out for right now, that was great.)

The crawling abomination hisses and writhes, green blood spilling from the wound. It spits out half the wolf, turning now for you.

(Make a acrobatics check for me-- a 1d20 + whatever your acrobatics skill adds, if anything. You can also use another skill that's comparable.)
(Rolled a 14 have 0 acrobatic skill what else would be considered compareable?)
(Athletics can be subbed, usually
(Oh yeah! That works too. so a +5 for that at least... XD )
(Sweet I have a plus 5 Athletics yesss)

You dig your tough hands into the earth, tearing at the rock with your fingers as you climb your way out. Ignoring the pain and the blood from your wounds, your goal is to get you and your little friend to safety.
As you crest the hill, you see a group of strange dragonfolk interrupting the entertainment of the goblin party, distracting the leader.

Oredion see the Hobgoblin that has been holding him prisoner for so long and rushes in as fast as his body will allow him and aims for the middle of the leaders body. (Got a 20 this is gonna be good)

(Risky lol
(May the odds be ever in your favor
(Risk it for the biscuit 😂😅)
(A 20!! NICE... if you grab a weapon it does 1d6 damage, + 5 for str.... then x2 for the entire number)
( Yesss got a 5 so a total of 20!!!)
(DUUUUDE.... wow. Okay, that... actually kills it. Would you like to describe what you do? Go ahead and go crazy, I'm excited to see what you come up with.)

Oredion charges the leader stabbing him through the middle then lifts him into the air and throws the Hobgoblin into the pit still alive with the injured centipede he then turns to the other goblins as the screeches of their leader echo into the air! Oredion then signals to the other goblins saying "Witch one of ye scrawny idgets would like to go next."

The group squeals in terror, realizing their pinned in from both sides. They begin to run and chaos ensues. They care little for one another, as long as they can save their own hides.

Atriox shows up with the gang then just as the head goblin is thrown in the pit by a dwarf of all things. Dahlia come on we need that goblin ! The rest of you help that dwarf !

She nods affirmatively, jumping in and sliding down the side of the pit with you. Pulling out the sword you'd given her, she grits her teeth against the smell and sight of the disgusting insect.

Oredion screams "What is that blasted fool doing!" While closing in on the goblin running away beside him.

The goblin you bear down on raises a spear to stab at you, (8) but misses wide, slicing into the air. His eyes widen in terror.

Oredion grabs the spear the goblin raised casting it aside as he falls into the goblin to strangle it to death. (Still or do I roll?)

(Mmmmmmm nah you're good. We'll swing this fight this way, I like it. It feels fun. XD)

Atriox attacks the hideous monster trying to avoid the tentacles.

He raises his hand and summons a eldritch Blast shooting a dark ball of energy into the creatures side

To Dahlia "knock that hobgoblin out and then keep him alive ! We need him !"

(I seeeeee.... interesting plan... I likey. Okay!)

The eldritch blast energy slices through half of the carrion crawler's neck, sending ichor spraying across the ground. It retches up part of the wolf it just ate, slithering toward you with all its legs and mandibles clicking.

Dahlia attempts to subdue the hobgoblin, which isn't difficult as he's bleeding out from the wound he received. She brings a rock down on his head, (17) knocking him out cold. She then sets to work tending his wound just enough to keep him alive, watching Atriox with concern as he fights the monstrous insect.

Atriox grunts blowing steam out of his nostril. He looks inward to his training an begins the process of activating his crimson rite sacrificing 3 health

18 and 20

Atrioxs glaive shimmers with lightning down the length of the weapon. Atriox  throws the weapon right st the wound in the creatures neck made by his last attack

The blade sinks deep into the beasts flesh, electricity arching off of its body and burning the wound at the same time. It writhes in pain and spills even more ichor, twisting and thrashing about against the ground. It twitches and lays still.

Oredion stands up from the dead strangled goblin before him and picks up the spear he knocked aside then proceeds to walk to the edge of the pit to see the Hobgoblin he thought to be dead moments before be tended to by a new creature. Oredion bellows "Back away fool and let me finish what I started" as he aims the spear at the Hobgoblin. He aims the spear at the Hobgoblins head and throws it with all his strength and precision.  (9)

(Ya know what....)

The spear whistles through the air, skewering the skull of the hobgoblin clean through the eye socket. Dahlia lets out a small scream as she covers her face from the mess, her healing definitely.... unnecessary at this point.

Atriox startled by the Dahlias scream looks over at her worried beyond belief. Upon seeing the dead hobgoblin he glares up at the dwarf

"You fool........you have no idea......no idea at all what you just did."

Atriox roars. His grabs his weapon from The dead monster. It still arching with electricity he turns it so the blade isn't pointing his target but instead the butt of the shaft. He throws it right at the dwarfs forehead attempting to knock him out

19 and 4 plus 2 lightning damage
Hes two away from being 0
(Umm, ouch... 😂)
(Hm... I know that definitely hits, but I'll let you fellas play this out. XD Ima sit back with some popcorn... have fun LOL)
Hes knocked out ? Not much ta play out
(Unconscious is 0 hp.... technically. I'd say he's practically unconscious but I'm going to leave that up to Collin to decide.
Oredion close to passing out releases his rage and jumps into the pit beserk at Atriox (7)
Armor 17 sucka
(So your turn now I'm guessing?)

Atriox punches the dwarf midair in the forehead 2

(roll attack first)
13+6
(That does it..... lol sorry Collin XD)

You pull your scaly fist back and let it fly, landing it square in the dwarves' forehead. Seeing stars, Oredion blacks out almost instantly, crumpling to the ground. Dahlia watches in surprise, wondering what she should do now. She waits for your signal.

(Worth it XD)

Atriox growls still very frustrated. "My dear hand me your sword please and then make sure this........bearded maniac isn't dead."

Atriox goes over to the hobgoblin. Removes the spear and cuts of the head. Taking the trophy. He throws it up to Tak

Dahlia checks over the dwarf, looking at the various wounds on his body. "He must have been here for some time, perhaps? Looks like he's been a lot of fights... many of these wounds on his arms are old." She pulls out a salve, applying it to his hands and bandaging them as kindly as she can.

Tak meanwhile catches the head, tossing it into a pile of other trinkets he's started gathering from their kills. He's having a grand old time.

As Dahlia checks Oredion, Joey crawls out of his beard hissing at Dahlia as his colors swirls red and black.

(He's feeling more angry and afraid then he is brave or determined)

Dahlia yelps, attempting to placate the little animal. "I'm not going to hurt him, just... make sure he's okay. We don't mean you any harm." She glances at Atriox, not quite sure what's going to happen. (Pffffft I rolled a nat 1 persuasion... 5 total for her... not sure if he'd believe that or trust her at all)

Oredion... you drift into a hazy dream. You see before you something you've dreamed a lot of in the last 20 years, although never quite so vividly.... you see the home you once had as a child, snatched away in a mountain of dust and smoke, ash and blood. The glowing, pale white eyes of a great beast peer at you from the destruction.

Oredion suddenly awakes but not in the pit, but the place he once called home. He stumbles out of his stone bed his father carved for him many many moons ago more then he cares remember. Startled but relaxed he sets out to investigate slightly saddened and nastalgic but mainly skeptical. As he walks through his old home he spots his younger sister playing in here room and almost starts to cry "Natla is that you? No it couldn't be you... You died!." He turns to see his mother smiling at him then her face twist into a face of horror as a spear is speared threw he middle. Oredion screams "No not again!" He Rush's the shadowy figure knowing all to well it was but a lowly goblin. He reaches out but nothing. His hands grasp at air. Then poof gone. He turns to see his sister surrounded by goblins with Spears then a goblin blocks the view of his sister as they all strike down. He hears his sister scream "BROTHER" before the scene as if instantly disappears. Oredion looks down at his now blood soaked hands and looks back up to see a new surrounding . This place was familiar to Oredion. It hit him, he's in the forge room of his father's shop. Oredion yells " No do not let me relive this cursed past again" as he breaks down and falls to his knees. He looks up to see his father impaled through the head with a spear as his father faintly says his final words " Stay strong m.. my... So." Has the goblin who speared him down jerks the spear out of his head. Oredion closes his eyes ashamed, crying, and shaking whimpers out in a hissed voice "Please not again, do not make me relive this horrid day. Please just make it stop." When he opens his eyes the goblins are gone and there's clear sky above him he looks up to see a white crow fly overhead. Then everything turns to black storms roll in and lighting strikes down as thunder echos the valley. He looks around to see poles stabbed into the ground with dwarves attached to the end. The dwarves were neighbors, friends, family. His people Oredion screams "Stop" He closes his eyes wishing for the dream to end and he hears a voice "Go forward chosen one and revenge our people. Do not fail me Oredion for you hold the key" Oredion opens his eyes to see a pair of glowing pale white eyes peer at him. Ad thousand of other yellow goblin slitted eyes open to feel the darkness with a flash. Then nothing Oredions mind goes blank.

(Duuuuude..... that was super freaking awesome. So emotional. Ugh my heart.)
( ty woo put my soul into that one 😂)
(I can teeeeell! That was powerful
( Elvis impression " Thank ya, thank ya very much")

Atriox, you and Dahlia climb out of the pit and look at the strange dwarf you've come across. Everyone up near the top again, Zeed, Tank and Bitey come into view. They've got a fair set of scratches, bruises and burns, but are otherwise okay. "Everything is good on the far end, boss. We can go around and... clean up if you'd like."

Alrik, you keep an eye out for any other movement along the edges of the encampment. A low rumble of thunder issues from overhead, with a small smattering of rain here and there. Tak skitters about, working without talking. He's gathering as many trophies as he can for Atriox, remembering their goal.

Atriox grins "well done my boys well done. Zeed Bitey go and make sure everything is dead. Tak will  be more than happy to help I'm sure. Bring back any treasure you find and pile it here. Be quick and thorough. Tank how do you feel about a dwarf being strapped to your back like a tied down baby ?

(OMG 😂)

Zeed and Bitey nod, following Tak around the camp. Tank just grins. "Works for me I guess."

Atriox takes Dahlias hand and they help search the camp for treasure and useful items after the dwarf is situated

(I think... I will roll up treasure and stuffs tomorrow. And we will have our dwarf friend wake back up soon... haha. My brain is a bit fried, but you will definitely find some good gear. 🙂
(Awesome night, I think I already love this game! I'ma hit the hay later peeps)
Bye buddy !
Bye dragon boy thinks for knocking me the f**k out 😂😂💪
Your welcome for the free exclusive minotaur ride !
No drinks or bathroom breaks included

After a very thorough purging and cleaning of the area everyone gathers together again. There is now a hefty, somewhat bloody potato sack full of goblin ears and the head of the Hobgoblin on top.

Tank has began moving the Corpses to a location designated by his boss. The others have also gathered together all the treasure they could find. There is about 1000 gold pieces all together, along with a crate of healing supplies, several barrels of food, a supply of crude weapons and armor, and a chest with acquisitioned goods...

You find a bronze, ornate helmet inside, along with a gold pocket watch, a very fancy painting, several belt buckles, 2 traps for large game, and a staff made out of steel inlaid with blue designs.
Atriox picks up the staff and examines it for a second then throws it to Alrik

"What do you make of this storm bringer ? Anything of interest?"

While Alrik examines that item Atriox turns to the rest

"Most of the gold will go torwards bigger projects but you boys can have 110of it to split between you men. You earned it. As well as any of the armor or weapons you see that you like. Have at it boys."

Atriox turns his attention to looking around the base admiring it

" with some cleaning and work this could be a good base of operations...... maybe somewhere to put the start of an army....."

Atriox gives Tak a sly grin.

(Interjection before the distribution of loot. Lol)

Alrik walks back into the center of camp, an arcing mage hand following behind him, dragging two goblins. Both have blood oozing from their ears as well as one has a ruptured eyeball.

"Caught these two trying to escape... hit em with a pretty powerful spell. Not sure if they're just unconscious or if they're dead... frankly, I don't care, either." He gives Tak a slight grin and a nod, gesturing to the goblins behind him with his thumb.

(Looooove iiiiiit)
(Niceeeeee

"Maybe spare these two ? For the kobolds ?"

Tak grins evilly and walks over. "Storm mage efficient... Very good catch. Kobolds might like that."

"Figured it might help our cause if the kobolds see, and hear, that we actually attacked them rather than just see the trophies..."

Atriox claps Alrik on the shoulder "Very smart my freind very smart."

Alrik nods, a slight grimace on his face. "They were running... cowards run... but then again, cowards ambush, too..." he mumbles to no one in particular.  He walks to a nearby log and sits down, clearly dealing with the inner turmoil of doing something he's not proud of.

Alrik catches the staff, looking it over. (17 arcana)

(Awwwwwww... Poor Alrik. Atriox wanna talk to him about that?

The staff is of a rather fine make, a fair conduit for a magic focus. It has no charges or magic in it at this time, but could probably be sold for a fair bit of coin.

Atriox watches Alrik closely and is nudged by Dahlia as she gestures to the man

Atriox let's out a sigh and walks over to him. "What's on your mind storm caller."

"We... ambushed them." He kicks the dirt. "I know it was probably our best chance, but... it just doesn't sit well... I... hate ambushes. I think they're cowardly."

Atriox nods his head. "I understand that......while I dont particular have the same qualms as you I cam respect that. I just feel a smart victory is better than a costly victory."

While the men talk, Dahlia takes the time to help bandage and heal the wounds of the others. Bitey refuses but Zeed and Tank happily accept. She also tends to the dwarf more, making sure he's taken care of.

As Dahila tends to Oredion, Joey pokes his head out of the dwarfs beard still looking afraid but not as angry seeing as they are helping his friend. (He is now a light blue color with hints of black running down his spine.)

She gives the little salamander a smile. "Hey there. I'm glad you found us when you did. Is this your friend? He's a tough man, isn't he?"

Joey turns purple no longer afraid but more concerned about Oredion and backs away to retreat into Oredion's beard.

(Not sure if he's tied up to Tank already or just tied on the ground for Tank to carry later.... rofl)
(Nope hes on tank
(Tank is just walking around
(Bwahaha... okay. Sounds good to me.)
(Neither am I figured I wait to someone addressed the unconcious dwarf lol)
(I dont plan on addressing the dwarf till he wakes or after our job is done)
(xD I was thinking of doing that.)

Dahlia has Tank stand still while she tends to the dwarf more, bandaging his hands and fingers, his arms, and his head. She tilts his head back to feed him a drink, knowing it will ease any pain he's in. If he wakes, he'll still be bound... but she doubts he'll give them trouble.

(So should I awake? I think I got knocked out on seconds ago though 😅)
(You work tonight?)
(I'd say some time has passed, maybe an hour. I say you could wake up 🙂
(Nope luckily my day off!)
(Sweet
(Nice!!

Oredions eye opens to see Dahlia bandaging his wounds. He tries to move but realizes he's tied up! To a Minotaur of all things. Oredion " Let me go I must finish off all these wretches not a single disgusting goblin must live!"

"Hey hey, it's okay! You got most of them. We all did, you're safe." (9 persuasion lol, not the best) You see this woman talking to you is healing you, but she's... very strange. She sports red dragonborn like features like a tail and scaled legs and arms, with golden eyes and fangs. But her face and physique is mostly human.

Oredion speaks "I have no quarrel with you woman. I apologise for frightening you earlier, but there leader had to die by hands. I meant you know harm please release me I will not run nor fight." Persuasion (12)

She looks apologetic. "I'm sorry, I believe you, I just..." She glances over at the white dragonborn and the mage talking. "I can't, they'll have to be the ones who do it."

"How did you come by this place? What happened?"

Tak comes over, staring up at the dwarf with unease. He finds it a little strange with him tied to the large minotaur.

Oredion glancing in the dragonborn and mages direction answers her question. "I was tracking these damned goblins for a long time trying to find there main camp. My trail went cold and decided to stop in on a town and pick up a few things. One thing lead to another and I got wasted and decided to sleep on the outskirts of town seeing as I had few coins to spare. When these filthy buggers wacked me over the head putting out my lights and dragged me back to there camp as entertainment. I've been fighting in these damned pits for a month now." The dwarf growing angrier with every word remembering all the evil things done to him since arriving here.

Dahlia looks rather horrified at that. "How terrible! I'm so sorry you went through so much here. I see why you wanted the leader dead... I'd definitely wish that too, if I was in your shoes." She looks around. "Did you have any gear with you when they took you? We found a few things, but..."

Oredion looks saddened and says "I did have a dented purple breast plate and a two headed greataxe with an engraved handle wrapped in a brown leather skin with a green emerald embedded in the base of the hilt that my father made for me when I was a Wii child, but I think those damn goblins destroyed all my possessions."

Joey crawls out of Oredion's beard and starts to lick the dwarfs face with his scaly tongue while switching between many colors. Oredion flustered gruffly says "I'm all right you little devil quit it, stop!"

(Lololol so cute)

Tak hisses. "Goblins greedy. If you have nice things, they not destroy... they probably hide it." He stands up taller, looking around. He scampers off to go look for what you described.

(Joey may or may not wear his emotions on his sleeve or skin for that matter XD)

Alrik finally stands up and dusts off his military jacket, walking over toward the dwarf. "Good to see you aren't dead." He nods at him. "A month in the goblin pits is no easy feat... we came across similar things often in the deserts... orc fighting cages."

Oredion examines the fellow before him sensing magical power and a military vibe emitting from the warrior. "So I'm guessing your the mage who I heard blasting things overhead?"

Alrik throws back his deep hood, exposing his jagged purple scar and stormy eyes. "Yes, that would be me. I am Alrik, but a lot of the world know me by a different name... I'm The Tempest."

(If you haven't got that far in the story, Alrik is part of the Mage Guard Elite. They all have nicknames and are pretty well known by those nicknames, as they've been the same since the forming of the Mage Guard... a long time ago. Lol)

"Ah I see. I've heard word of a warrior that goes by that name that is fabled to controls storms and to have a pulsing scar on his face. I take it I finally get to meet the man himself. My name's Oredion, Oredion the bronze. I'd shake your hand but I'm kinda stuck to this big lug. No offense fella!" As he uses his tied up hands to pat the Minotaur's back.

Alrik nods slowly. "Yeah, you happened to upset Atriox... so he tied you up. Granted, I would have done the same thing, seeing as we had no idea if you're a threat or not..." he points at the Dragonborn nearby.

Oredion turns his head to view the dragonborn. "That's the lizard that gave me the good old one two on my about" Nodding towards the dragonborn "Sure gave me nice one, didn't ya"

"Not trying to rush the process fellas but anyway you'd could help a dwarf out and untie me before I get fleas?"

(Both the men in charge disappeared... rofl sorry Collin XD I'm sure you'll be free soon)
(#FreeOredion 😂)

Atriox sits and watches this whole thing finally he gets up and walks over glaive in hand.

"So.......dwarf tell me why I shouldn't have you thrown in jail on our return for foiling the plans of the official agents of Dragonshore on this mission ? Or just give you to Tank here as a toy ?"

"You can do what you want lizard face, but I do not regret what I've done. That goblin needed to die just as any other goblin that crosses my path will meet the same fate. Now either untie me or get it over with. I'm sick of your upity tone."

Tak comes back, dusty and grimy, dragging armor and the weapon described behind him in the dirt as they're too big for him to carry properly. He glances between Atriox and the new fellow with curiosity, watching to see what the dragonborn does.

Atriox chuckles. "Dwarves. So hot headed. So ruled by there emotions. Cere in town must be a rare breed of dwarf."

He Pat's Tank on the shoulder. "If that's the attitude your going to have then your staying right where you are. I cant risk you ruining anything else."

Atriox sees what Tak has brought. "Ahhhh is this your gear ? Well you can have it hack once you learn to behave!"

Ignoring the dragonborn Oredion looks past to the axe on the ground longily with a sad look in is eyes he calmly says "Glad to see your safe girl"

"Tank go for a walk while we finish some things up. Give our guest here something to look at"

Dahlia gives Atriox a funny look. "You really think he's going to do you any harm now? It... seems our common interest is done. The slaying of the goblins. Perhaps he can guard the perimeter looking for others who try to come back?"

Oredion annoyed at being treated like a play thing sarcastically says "Ya giddy up, show me the  backside of everything"

Atriox waits till Tank has left and then looks at her

"Need I remind you my lady that he just threatened to kill any goblins alive ? We have two captives if you remember correctly. We need them to stay that way! Our goal is in sight and I wont have some dwarf who refuses to even reason with me."

He looks to Zeed and Bitey. "Make sure that the goblins are bound so tight they could never escape. Get them to the cave. Put them on the wagon with the rest of the barrels. Tak where should they meet us so that we can approach the kobolds safely ?"

Dahlia gives him a funny look. "As you wish, sir. My apologies for questioning your judgment." She turns and walks away to scout the rest of the camp, keeping an eye on Tank and the dwarf.

Tak looks up at Atriox with a smile. "You right. He kill the goblins too. You smart. Kobolds... I'm not sure. Perhaps somewhere before the temple. They have small groups that patrol, sure we could meet with them, send word of our efforts."

Atriox sighs heavily. Not happy that he's upset Dahlia.

He looks to Tak and the mercs. "Tak will tell you where to meet us. Get some rest at the cave once your there. Tank will stay. Meet us just a little after dawn."

He pats them on the shoulders. "Tak find me in awhile will you we need to plan."

Atriox heads after Dahlia. The men nod, and Tak goes about scrounging the camp. He drops the dwarf's gear when he leaves, leaving it near the big pile of stuff.

(Finally on day 3 wooo)
(Keep on going lol )
(Just passed the part you played truth and dare. Streaked for cheese dude cheese of all things 😂😂😂)
(I dont remember that lol)

Atriox runs after Dahlia. "Dahlia come back please.....I didn't mean to upset you my dear."

She glances over at him, grabbing some of the weapons from the ground and tossing them into a pile. "Huh? I'm fine, what's the matter?"

Atriox is a bit confused. "I......I thought my decision about the dwarf upset you ?"

She takes a moment to consider how to respond to that. "You... have every right to be concerned for our safety over that of a stranger. You have important goals set in place. I can see why you are handling things they way you are." She flashes a smile, then goes back to picking up things.

Atriox grabs her arm. "Dont placate me........dont treat me like a customer. This isn't the fang and I'm not your customer......."

Dahlia looks taken aback. "I'm not--" there's some hesitation on her face.

Atriox growls softly with a mischievous smile. "Dont make me beg you princess......."

"F-fine. Yes. I think you're being a bit pig headed, and not explaining to the poor fellow what you need the goblins for. He doesn't know what to do to compromise with you. I think that's why he hasn't. Perhaps you could discuss with him more civil-like."

She tugs on her arm in your grip. "He practically died tonight. Something I think you could empathize with him on." She raises an eyebrow, wondering how you'll take her being brazen.

Atriox looks at her for a moment. His face completely blank of any emotion. All of the sudden he breaks out laughing

"Your probably right........I should just talk to him. I promise I will ok ?"

He cups her cheek affectionately. "You always make me see things more clearly princess." He kisses her.

She chuckles. "Thank you, Atriox." Giving him another kiss on the snout, she pats his arm. "I'll head back to cleaning. Let me know if you need anything, handsome."

Atriox goes over to tank. "Hey buddy. Take a break and sit while I talk to our new freind here."

"Okaaaay boss." He thumps down on the ground.

"You come to gloat or is this a social visit" Says Oredion coldly.

Atriox bends down so he is eye level with dwarf. " you think I'm happy about this? You think I want to tie you up ? Wheres the fun in that now..........granted I cant let you run around and murder my bargaining chips."

"Explain to me why you keep these vile things alive and not just run them through?" Says Oredion staring directly into the dragonborns eyes.

A series of loud booms of thunder echo across the sky, the lightning strikes illuminating Alrik as he stands, shirtless, breathing hard as he focuses on storing another immensely powerful spell in his ring.

Tak, chewing on a bone he found, watches with intrigue. He considers all they've done, and what they will yet do. He was growing rather fond of these people.

(Making the most of the storm... lol. Alrik is basically using the lightning strikes to help power the spell, hoping is doesn't completely drain him like usual)

"I'm not even gonna ask why he stripped." Says Oredion chuckling dryly.

(That sounds cool Chant!  Lolol Collin 😂
(My dwarfs just here for humor currently lol)
(So, a little backstory, which I'm sure you'll read eventually since you're reading the log, but Alrik has a ring of spell storing. He stores incredibly overpowered spells in it, but they're completely draining to cast/store... they leave him dripping in sweat, sore all over, and utterly exhausted... by taking his shirt off, he doesn't have to worry about it getting soaked in sweat. It's a nice shirt. Was given to him by a special someone... lol)
( So you take of your shirt and get swoll af got it 😂)
(Rofl... basically
(I was going to make a Thor joke earlier but not 100% if Asgardian gods exist in this world.)

Atriox smiles. "because I'm playing it smart. I enjoyed killing these ugly wretches as much as anyone would. I have no love for them. But by sparring these two for just a little while and handing them over to the kobolds I ensure that they will endure much more pain and in the process I get the start of an army. Who knows they may suffer the exact same thing they put you through eh ? Would that be so bad ?
Oredion looks down eating his options and looks back confidence glinting in his eyes. "I understand you point now. I will not harm the two you have captured as return for you saving me, but be warned any other goblin I see will die. Besides I killed the one that tortured me." Oredion nods toward the pit. "That was enough to satisfy me for now"

Atriox shakes his head. "Very well........ but betray our trust dwarf and you'll regret it. After this you have free range to murder any goblins you want."

Atriox takes his glaive and cuts the dwarf free.

Oredion stands to his feet, walks straight to the dragon born looks him in the eyes and offers his hand to shake. "That was a nice punch big fella"

Atriox shakes his hand. "Thank you......I don't know if I've ever tried something like that before but I wasn't trying to hurt you badly."

Oredion flexing his mighty arms calmly says " Your lucky you caught me on a rough day!" He lets out a laugh and walks to the pile of loot and retrieves his breast plate. Taking off his dark green trench coat that's covered with mud, blood, and tears. He puts the armor on over his head and then quickly fastens it together. He puts his trench coat back on and picks his axe and grips it tightly saying quietly "Glad to have you back in my hands old girl" Oredion turns facing his new found savior's with a year rolling down his one good eye smiling. "Thank you"

Atriox grunts. "Don't mention it. Now I need to go find Tak."

You find Tak flossing his teeth with the bone and picking through a few stones at his feet. He glances up as you approach, dropping the bone quickly. "Oh, sorry, I... didn't want interrupt. Sorry Tak keep Atriox waiting."

Atriox chuckles at the kobold. "You didn't keep me waiting little one. I'm perfectly able to come find you. Thank you for the privacy. So we need to plan and have a talk. Are you ready to take your first step torwards being Cheif ?"

He gulps, muttering in draconic. "I--I guess so. I'm not sure I know how to be a chief."

Atriox ponders this for a moment

"Say this all goes according to plan little one and most the kobolds join us. While I may be the one in charge of them I'll need someone that runs the day to day organization of them. That will need to fall to one of they're own. You. What would you want them to do ? What would you want them to stand for ?"

"Something better than what they do now. Something to be proud of." He grumbles. "This stuff, easy for me." He gestures to the field of blood from the goblins. "Used to this. Chief? I'll... have to learn as I go, I think."

Atriox grunts "that is the only way to learn something like leadership. I think you can do it."

Tak glances over at Atriox, then nods and picks up a stone. "Yeah? T-thanks. I appreciate that."

"We'll see how they like their offering. When should we go? What are you planning?"

"Oh the usual you know ? Give them a few offerings give a speech challenge the current leader of the kobolds.......or should it be challeng then speech ? I don't know I'll decide when we get there."

"We will leave a few hours after dawn. We all need to rest a little bit."

Tak nods, polishing his claws with the stone some. He chews on one and polishes it some more. "I suppose some rest would be good... I'm exhausted. Should we rest here, or back at the cave?"

Oredion confused and not sure what to slowly starts to walk around the goblin camp. He is finally coming to terms with being free after a pain staking traumatic month, but does not know what to do now that he's exhausted his last lead to find the goblin horde that massacored his people.

(Wasn't sure when to jump in or not)
(Oh no that's perfect! Sorry I guess it's just kinda free rp at this moment, until you guys are ready to skip ahead to travel/getting to the kobolds in a few hours. It also depends if you mind sticking with these bozos on their lizard quest XD)

Dahlia spots you wandering around again and comes over, greeting you again. "Nice to see you up and about. Er, at least on your own two feet now."

"And here I was starting to like having a Minotaur on my back" Oredion casting a sly smile obviously being sarcastic.

She laughs rather good humored. "That's a nice way to look at it."
"To be honest with you I'm at a cross point I'm not sure where to go from here" Oredion smile disappearing being replaced with a face full of confusion. "I tracked these goblins hoping they'd lead me to there horde but alas I let my emotions get the better of me and slayed the only one who's actually be of use" Oredion clearly disgusted with his own words of keeping a goblin alive, starts kick the dirt irritatedly.
Dahlia nods, considering what you've said. "We do have two still alive... perhaps they have more information? Or... maybe some kind of token, or maps around here? I'm not sure if goblins keep those sorts of things." She gives him a curious look. "You seek out a goblin horde, then?"

"It's a long and emotional tale that would be best said at a later time after i have healed my wounds and got a few drinks in me. As for maps and such goblins normally do not keep such things and even when they do it's sketched so roughly even the best of map readers can not read them. There may yet be luck with the two captives. Maybe they might have overheard there leader or remember the path back to the horde." Oredion still looking confused looks a little more relived knowing there still may be a chance to find the horde he seeks.

"That's understandable. I hope they have the information you seek, sir. You're probably starving, make sure to grab a bite from the food storage we found. Looks like they raided some good stuff from the merchants on the road... I bet we can take the rest back to town, or set up a camp here sometime." She smiles.

"Anything sounds better then that bleeding pit. Think it'd be best to wait on word from the scaly tailed warrior and the stormin mage before a decision is made." Oredion tired decides to sit on a crate next to the supplies and wait for group before him to decide there next actions.

Atriox debates on where they should rest "what you think Tak ?"

The little kobold thinks. "If we rest here... Might have our throat slit by any goblins that sneak back. Would have to take turns keeping watch. Would be easier at the cave, although we would have to walk all the way back."

He glances at the pile of loot. "And we could only carry so much back to the cave... We would need a cart.."

Atriox nods. "Indeed and that's a good amount of treasure to try and move if we go back to the cave. I rather like this camp.....mi don't really want to give it up."

His yellow eyes flash. "We took. We own it now. I'll keep watch first."
Atriox claps his shoulder and goes to find somewhere to get comfy and rest till it's time

(Time skip?)
(Sounds good with me Oredion's probably passed out on the crate lol)
(Indeed Mam full speed ahead

It's a short sleep till dawn, the air cold and damp from a night of light rain. You feel better having slept and head out to meet up with the others at a pre determined spot, on the road toward the temple.

Oredion awakes on the Minotaur's back once again. Realizing he must have slept threw everything from fatigue and exhaustion. Not being strapped down this time he pats the Minotaur's back saying "I appreciate the ride big fella but I think it's time to use my own legs" The Minotaur let's him down and Oredion gives him a big old wink saying, "Thank ye lad"

(That work? Nobody really asked if I would join them or not so had to improvise xd)
(I like it ! Plus just because Atriox freed you doesn't mean he trusts you. U just met and he wasnt going to leave you alone at his camp full of treasure lol)
( ya I probably would have looted a little bit lol)

Atriox smiles upon meeting up with his men and waves at them

"I hope you boys got some rest. You may need it. Now Tank ,Bitey I need you to go back and guard the treasure and our camp. The goblins may try and take it again while we are gone."

Atriox looks at the dwarf "how about you ? Your fre to leave, come with us, or help guard the camp, who knows you may get to kill more goblins. Like I say it is up to you."

He gives the dwarf a smile

Oredion in a very serious tone "If I go with you will there be FOOD!?"
Oredion rubbing his slimming beer belly knowing all to well he hasn't eaten anything but scraps worse then pig slop in many a moon.

(Wait go with who ? Theres food at the camp yes idk about the temple lol ???? 🤷‍♂️
(Just say there's food were your going because don't you have a trial in town after the kobald thing?)
(That's the next day. We need to be back in town to tonight because Atriox is throwing a party at the inn )
(Mention the party then lol)
(Lol it doesn't matter which way you choose we will all be heading back to town tonight but I'll seed it if that's what you want
(Yea I don't think my dwarf wants to spend much longer in the goblin camp lol)

Atriox looks at the dwarf. "I dont know about food but there will be a celebration tonight in town your welcome to attend"

Oredion saddened at the lack of food but not willing to return to the goblin camp decides "I will travel with you lads if that's not a bother, besides i need to talk to the goblins one last time before you set the other scales upon them."

Atriox looks at him sharply. "It better just be talking dwarf. Do it now there wont be time once the kobolds have them. They're in the wagon."

Oredion clearly annoyed berates the dragonborn "I am a dwarf of my word, how dare you think otherwise." Oredion stalks off yo the wagon, turns to the dragonborn and drops his axe to the ground, then proceeds to climb up the wagon to sit on the edge. He glares down at the goblins fiercely and says "Listen now and listen good. Where are your vile kind hiding? Where are they going? What are they planning? Where is the HORDE?" (Intimidation 16)

(Your going to have to wait for jess now)
(Np I'm chill with waiting. Btw should I see if I get buffs for intimidation?)
(It says I get plus 5 to intimidation)
(So that's actually 21 Intimidation they're scared shitless)
(Yeet)
(Sorry for the delay, I'll respond in just a min
(it's np xd)

The injured goblins squeal with fright, screaming and jibbering. They thrash in their bonds, unable to escape the tight ropes. "Horde?? Horde?!" They squirm under your gaze. "What horde!?"

Oredion plainly loosing his temper the longer he sits their barks back "You know damn well what I'm talking about. Now tell me where to find the horde that killed my family!" Oredion moves to be closer to the goblins faces eyeing them closely but keeping his hands behind him to not upset the dragonborn into thinking he's about to kill them.

(Btw I haven't thought much about where or how I'm going to find the horde I'll leave that up to you to decide if that's cool with ya?)
(For sure! I was brainstorming earlier, I have some ideas... haha)
One cries out, "You let go!? We go, if tell of horde!? Yes?!"
( Let em loose! All ive decided is it's a goblin horde controlled by something else that has enough power to destroy my mountain lol)
(I got it planned... >D Hehehe...)

Oredion lets out an evil laugh bellowing "How bout you tell me and I don't kill you in the most gruesome way possible." Turning his head sideways to give Atriox a wink.
(Intimidation 3+5)

The goblin cackles insanely, "Uh, the the horde is--is up in Crags! Yes the mountains!" (6 deception, you can tell he's saying anything he can)

Oredion shoots his hand forwards lifting the goblin up by the throat shaking him screams "Tell me now or die." His scared over eye lighting up green under the eyelid. (Intimidation 17+5)

"THE horde!! THE horde!!" It squeals, choking. "IT MOVES! The great horde moves!"

Oredion tosses the goblin down then proceeds to get off the cart. Oredion clearly distraught picks up his axe and pushes past Atriox to continue up the past a short ways.

Atrioxs motions for everyone to wait and walks after the dwarf

"So your not just a crazy axe wielding goblin killing maniac huh ? This is personal then."

Oredion turns around to face Atriox averting his eyes and says abruptly "To you these are lowly monsters, to me these are the demons who haunt my nightmares. They took my family, my friends, everyone I ever come to know in my mountain. Everytime I see one of these vile things a rage consumes me and I hear the screams of my family dying. Do not be worried dragon I will keep my word and let that trash live." Oredion looks into Atriox's eyes with sadness and anger.

Atriox looks at the dwarf understanding in his eyes

" I'm not afraid I know you will......... you know we aren't that different dwarf. I call a mountain home to."

Oredion averting his eyes once again not being good with emotional talk calmly speaks "Is that so, mind telling me about her?"

( finishing up at work will reply when I can
(np dude take your time)
(So Collin, I totally have a plan for this goblin horde... it's going to be epic... it'll be a long, long road but I think you'll like it.)
(With how much I'm enjoying reading what guys have already done I 100% know I'm going to love it)
(😂 Yayyyyy. Aubrey told me you also like homebrewed stuff... so I'm mixing a bit of that with a homebrew item I found. Let's just say it's a very powerful something that let the goblins do what they did. Maybe someday you could even use it....... if you wished)
(You said horde... I'm making horde.... bwahahaha...)
(That sounds freaking epicccc and yes massive horde may die in the process but worth it 😂)
(I'm also glad you love reading what we've done xD It's been a ton of fun. Any favorite parts so far?
(Ahahahaha yesssssss.... death is a possibility in my game... but you guys are smart I think you will plan carefully.
(So far my favorite part is where Tak breaks down by the pool with the storm mage and exsplains why his coin is so important that left some major feels with me 😭)
(Awwwwww XD ❤
(So far I've been loving all of tak's scenes and how the store mage felt after accidentally hurting Tak the feels are realllll)
(Yeeeeeees. Haha I love complex drama and growing relationships between characters. By the end of this I imagine you all being almost like brothers.
(I've noticed some themes so far in the game--love vs hate, companionship vs loneliness, and acceptance vs bigotry. That's a big one. XD A lot of npcs have different views on different races/cultures.
(And the characters too XD
( It's like every npc i  pass is its own player I'm amazed at the detail of everything.)
(Awwwwww 😂☺️ I'm so glad, that was my hope
(I'm excited to see what she does with The Mage Guard... lol)
(Ahahaha... I know you had a lot of ideas for them already, I'm going to try to stay true with what you gave me and evolve from that. ❤
(I know whatever you come up with will be great!
(Awwwww.... >///< You guys are so sweet

Atriox smiles and gets a far off look while he leans on his glaive

" Skyhold........the perfect mountain she was. As tall as she was wide. She had a few waterfalls off to one side with that formed a medium sized lake at the bottom.

He laughs a little as if remembering something then continues

" around the base of the mountain there was a vast city with high walls around it. Outside the walls was another city. A city of tents. Beautifully colored tents. Where the kobolds lived and sold things. Then you got about halfway up the mountain and there was the castle town. About 1/4 the size of the city below. That's where the some of the servants lived and you had the castle blacksmiths, stables so on. Now that's where most of the common part of the castle stopped. High above on the upper part of the mountain theres towers and the throne hall. Accessible by a waterfall entrance for dragons and a few secret tunnels that led down below. You see the inside of the mountain was hollowed out by dwarves."

Atriox gives a smile to the dwarf near him

"Indeed. Skyhold would not have been possible without the help of the dwarves and they're genius craftsmanship and engineering. There was a little section inside the mountain called dwarfiton. That's where they lived. Had unique architecture."

He moves around as he was getting stiff

"Lastly one side of the mountain has a giant tower connecting at several places with the mountain.

This was called the tower of the hand of the king. It is where the hand lived and held council. It also had several other court officials housed lower in the tower. Where the tower met with the mountain at the bottom was a giant underground prison underneath. I was never allowed to go there of course. Too young"

He looks back at the dwarf. "It was a home for all kinds big and small."

Oredion startled by the detail replies "I, sounds like a splendid place indeed! But not to mock your home, for it does sound like a beauty to behold, but my mountain..." Oredion stops and wipes his eye quickly to not look weak. He looks back up a smile on his rugged face and continues "My home, be it destroyed, was a genuine jawdropper. Its peak soaring above the heavens and it's base being full of trees and ponds alike. We lived inside of it's caves tumbling deeper then we ever have before. The city at witch layed at the center was a city of gold and diamond. We had buildings for homes, for shops, smithing, schools, and mead halls" Oredion getting caught up in his memory winces "We had, before those blazed goblins found are fair city" Oredion not being able to continue walks up to Atriox and pats him on the shoulder as he passes him "A tale for another time my friend" Oredion walks back and joins the others.

Atriox waits a few seconds then heads back himself "Alright everybody let's go get the first bit of our army shall we and get paid for it. Move out."
