Atriox looks for Oxious
"Oxious what will you do ? You can ride back with me if you wish."
Oxious nods at Atriox. "Y-yes, I'll ride back with you if that's alright. I need to prepare so I can help fight the bastards. Make counterspells for what I did..." He shakes his head in disgust.
Atriox helps Oxious up on the horse and looks to Tak
"Make sure the troops are ready. Prepare as best we can. Remember draw the enemy into our traps. Either light the fire to block there escape or when half there troops are through. Either way it'll have a hell of an impact. I want to be there when its starts but i dont know if itll go the way I want. This day seems to be cursed in that regard."
Atriox spurs his horse into action heading towards Dragonshore
@Aubrey Burmaster Atriox, you and Oxious ride hard back to the city. The galloping of the horse doesn't dissuade Oxious from concentrating on counter spells the entire ride, nodding off only once or twice from exhaustion.
You see the lights ahead in town. The guards at the entrance are shouting at the people, telling them to relax and be calm. They are also checking the villages for any suspicious individuals. One of the soldiers calls out for you. "Hey! Hey over here! It's Donovan!" He raises his viser and you can see the soldier's friendly face.
Atriox rides up next to Donovan and gives the man a half hearted smile
"Donvan what are you doing here ? Surely not all the troops are here yet ?"
@Aubrey Burmaster "As many of us that could ride on horseback are." He smirks. "The rest should be on foot within a few hours. They're at a swift march through the Tanglewood now."
He pauses for a moment, then looks around at the tightly packed crowd of people entering the city. Donovan shouts at the crowd with authority: "Everyone, move back immediately, gang way!" He looks at you and motions for you to come with him. "Follow me! We must hurry. Ironfist is awaiting your arrival, and I'm under strict instructions to get you to the town hall immediately. Try to keep up!" He chuckles, leading you both through town.
Atriox trots his horse after Donovan
@Aubrey Burmaster You run through a number of back streets averting a few large crowds. You see a queue of men and young boys receiving helmets and swords and are being ushered towards the front of the town. You finally make it to the town hall. Donovan slams his chainmail covered fist on the town hall's heavy door impatiently and announces his arrival. "Commander, it is Donovan!"
Oxious nods to you as you wait. "My house is just down the road. I'm going to go... gather my things and clean up. I'll meet you back here shortly." He climbs down from the horse and hurries off as fast as he can.
Commander Ironfist opens the door. He notices you standing there and immediately asks you to enter the building, thanking Donovan for his haste and closing the door behind you as you walk into the large room.
Five men are standing in the center of the room near a table covered in bits of parchment and a map.
You recognize them all. Ferrar Axemage the blacksmith, Petvin the Priest of Dragonshore, Wilster the Alchemist, Mayor Cere of Dragonshore. Wilster Decanter who is looking rather nervous, and the familiar face of Olohand.
Atriox walk torwards them all in his Dragon Skull armor and glaive in hand looking ready for battle. He nods a most of the people present.
"Well people. It's been one hell of a day I can tell ya that."
@Aubrey Burmaster Olohand greets you and beckons you forward into the group. The commander looks and says, "What dark times. My men will not go down without a fight! We will face this evil head on! We will do our best to fight off the approaching horde."
Olohand nods. "But if the Taker's spirits are truly back and fighting with this army... it may only be a matter of time before we fall. Our only hope is if someone can defeat that evil behind the horde once the battle is turning in our favor."
Petvin shakes his head, as if not wanting to discuss such ghost stories. But he is still unnerved. Cere is currently strapping on his own armor, polished and saved from years prior. "Taker or no Taker... Commander, please rally your men and prepare for the descending forces. They are drawing near and we must hold them off for as long as possible."
@Aubrey Burmaster Wilster steps forward, nervous and excited at the same time. He places a box of potions on the table. "I've been perfecting this new potion that Sage Nathbryn T'sossz shared with me. Bless Alrik's heart for assisting me with it... It seems to possess a potent aura of the divine. Petvin recognized it almost immediately when I showed him." He nods to the priest who adds his own two cents. "This type of radiance is in liquid form--weapons can be coated in it and will glow. They will burn away evil foes, dealing additional damage. Would any of you wish to use this before the battle?"
(Adds 1d6 radiant damage, or changes the attack damage to the radiant type. fyi)
The mayor steps forward almost at once. "Aye, definitely would good sir." He takes some, hefting his mace up onto the table to apply it. The Commander nods affirmatively and does the same. Atriox, you feel quite adverse to the box of glowing light, the burn on your chest aching somewhat. However... it would give you an advantage in battle, if the top of your spear were coated in it.
@Aubrey Burmaster (Oh sorry I didn't clarify--these potions/radiant stuff will wear off after about 24 hours, so it's not permanent... just a short term buff.)
Atrioxs shakes his head abit and holds his hands up.
"Im going to have to pass Wilster but thank you for contributing to the fight. Now has the Commander here filled everyone in on the plan ?"
@Aubrey Burmaster Cere nods affirmatively. "We're all ready. Ready as we'll ever be."
"Plan is finalized. Let's hope it works." He nods and pats Atriox on the shoulder, heading outside. You all make your way back to the battlefield.... awaiting the calling drums.
